A group of Woodland Hills women organized the Woodland Hills Woman’s Club in July 1948. Their purpose was to give service to their community through volunteering personal time and raising funds for donations to local and national organizations. Our Club’s first philanthropic project was the March of Dimes’ “Mothers’ March.” Over the years Club members’ support has extended to areas of health, youth services, family welfare, gerontology, education, community improvement, local and international affairs and the arts.
The Club later joined with the Federation of Women’s Clubs serving the common goals of women worldwide.
We are affiliated with the California Federation of Women’s Clubs with over 44,000 members in more than 650 clubs statewide, and with General Federation of Women’s Clubs, International, whose worldwide membership exceeds several million volunteers.
GFWC, founded in 1890, is the largest and oldest nonpartisan, non-denominational women’s service organization in the world. Its headquarters are located in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, D.C
The CFWC motto “Strength United is Stronger,” reminds us that “In Unity There is Strength,” (our club motto) and that together we make a difference.
Our club is in the Sierra–Cahuenga District.
